Paralinx Arrow, the quest for a wireless set

Ever since shooting the first season of "Dag" (comedy-drama tv-show, now in its third season) I`ve been looking for a solution to get rid of the BNC cable. Its always getting tangeled and getting stuck somewhere. Its really not that reliable (they easily "break"), and they can even damage the camera, when people trip the cable. On paper it had lots of cool functions, but it…

A day with the C300

Testshoot in snowy Oslo Me and fellow DoP Pål Bugge Haagenrud got the opportunity yesterday to check out the newest addition to the post-DSLR camera market. The C300 was announced last December in Hollywood (!), targeting the pro/cinema market, with a pro/cinema pricetag. A lot of research went into how to make these cameras work in a feature production pipeline. In the end, we were really happy with the results, and the audience loved it. So much so that we were nominated for 8 Gullruten (Norways Emmy), and both Anders and Tuva won. Now, DoP Pål Bugge Haagenrud and myself are shooting the second season. For those of you who follow my blog, you can see that there hasnt been too many…

Shooting wrapped!

DoP Pål Bugge Haagenrud operating the A-cam As we wrapped 60 days of principal photography on the worlds first DSLR only drama shoot last friday, it has become clear (if you look at my webtraffic) that we have caused quite a stirr in the industry. TVBEurope picked up the story through this blog, and Eirik Helland Urke also did a nice piece on our production just before we wrapped. The two cameras never faulted once, through rain, snow, cold and heat. We did get one, one out of several thousands, corrupt file on the a-cam, put it was probably related to power down whilst recording.…
